Things you need before you install:

• FTP access to your server
• Joomla! 1.x installed
• Virtuemart 1.1.x component installed

INSTALL VIRTUEMART THEMES ON YOUR SERVER

1. Connect to your FTP server and navigate to the directory \components\com_virtuemart\themes\
2. Upload your theme directory. The result should be a directory in \components\com_virtuemart\themes\pbv-multi, pbv-bigmart ,pbv-powered, etc

Make sure that you have set the proper file permission to the themes directory otherwise your server won't be able to properly read the files. To check your directory or file permissions in FileZilla client simply right click on the "themes" folder and click on "File Permissions". Make sure that it is set to 755 (essentially everything checked except for two "write" checkboxes) and that the file permissions will apply to the recursive directories and files.

Configure VirtueMart

1. Go to Components >> VirtueMart >> Admin >> Configuration
• click on Site tab, in the Layout section
• Set "Select the theme for your Shop" as pbv-multi, pbv-boxslide, pbv-powered, etc...
• click on Save
• Set "Default number of products in a row" to 5
• Set "Category Template" as browse_pbv
• Set "FLYPAGE" to flypage.pbv.tpl
• Check the box next to"Enable Dynamic Thumbnail Resizing"
• click on Save
2. Go to Components >> VirtueMart >> Products >> List Categories
• click on the category of products to apply the theme to
• change "Category Browse Page" to browse_grid_pbv (or a similar name with the "pbv" in the title)
• change "FLYPAGE" to flypage.pbv.v1.tpl (or a similar name with the "pbv" in the title)
• change "Show x products per row:" to the amount of products you wish to display per row
• click on Save
